Good to know
* Linalool, Limonene, Farnesol and Geraniol are natural components of Neroli essential oil. Relevant for people with allergies.
Essential oils are obtained from flowers and plant parts. They combine the concentrated power of the plants and, in addition to the scent, have various positive and negative effects. People with intolerance to certain plants often also react to the corresponding essential oils. A single essential oil consists of up to 200 chemical components - some of which can have an allergenic effect. For this reason, 26 allergenic components have been defined by the EU. These must always be shown separately in the overview of ingredients (INCI) and let people with allergies know that certain products should be avoided.
Our ingredients can do that
1. Shea Butter
Quality: organic, refined
Our popular Shea Cream contains one thing above all: valuable organic shea butter, which we obtain from women's cooperatives in Burkina Faso and Ghana. Our supplier knows the women personally and guarantees the cooperatives fair purchase prices. The shea butter gives the cream its consistency and protects the skin from moisture loss. Pure shea butter is quite solid (similar to honey) but becomes liquid at body temperature. Incidentally, this also explains why the consistency of your cream can change with temperature fluctuations. It can become more liquid or solid, and the shea butter can crystallize. However, this does not affect the quality of the product.
2. Jojoba Oil
Quality: organic, cold-pressed
Jojoba oil is a light oil that ideally complements shea butter and takes its heaviness away. It absorbs well, does not seal the skin and protects against moisture loss. Jojoba oil is an oxidatively very stable oil. It prevents other oils from going rancid (in the product and on the skin), which is very important for your skin and thus protects against the formation of free radicals. Argan oil (organic): has a balanced composition of fatty acids and supports the regeneration of the skin barrier.
3. Argan Oil
Quality: organic, cold-pressed
Argan oil is known as the gold of Morocco. Rightly so, because the oil impresses with its balanced composition of fatty acids. It is predestined for rough, dry and demanding skin. It has a smoothing effect and relieves itching.
4. Vitamin E
Quality: non GMO, from soya
Vitamin E acts as a radical scavenger.
5. Neroli Essential Oil
Quality: organic, steam distillation of the flowers
Neroli oil is one of the most valuable essential oils and is extracted from the blossoms of the bitter orange tree. We use the precious neroli because of its good skin tolerance and the fresh, delicately sweet and tart scent.
